The eighth installment of the Jewish Food Media (JFM) conference took place last week at Rendezvous Kosher Restaurant in Suffern, New York. The group of 85 attendees came together to network with each other, eat some amazing food, and listen to a panel about issues in the industry.

La Brochette
My wife and I had to be in Midtown Manhattan yesterday evening and decided to have an early dinner. When checking out our options, we found that many places don’t open until 5:00 or 6:00pm. Luckily for us, La Brochette - Kosher Steakhouse and Sushi Bar opened at 2pm.
Kosher Pork? Impossible. Well, Possibly.
Impossible Pork is the talk of the kosher world these days and, I don’t know if you’ve heard, but Jews tend to ask a lot of questions. After reading through the different articles and opinion pieces, I had even more questions than I started with. Luckily for you, I didn’t stop there. I went looking for the answers to my questions. I can truly say that some of the answers surprised me. But before we get to the answers, let’s get to the questions…
The Effects of COVID on Shul: Before and After
Even though COVID is terrible, I miss the way shul was in the spring. I know, it may sound odd to be nostalgic for the days of mandatory masks and social distancing. But as shul goes back to being “normal,” I’ve realized that when everything was definitely abnormal, I enjoyed davening more than I thought at the time.
Noi Due Carne
My wife and I trekked into the city (you know, Manhattan?) to Noi Due Carne for our anniversary last week. First, let me say that they were super helpful with the reservation on the phone after I had an issue with the online system confirming our time. Their system is divided into indoor and outdoor. My wife and I chose the outdoor (won’t eat inside currently) and the seating was as nice as it could be on a NYC sidewalk. Also of note, all COVID precautions were adhered to with staff wearing masks inside and outside.
La Cucina Di Nava
My wife and I finally made it out to a restaurant after having our first baby. We made our way to Teaneck and La Cucina Di Nava for some great upscale dairy cuisine straight outta Italy.
Prime Bistro
For those following along, after much deliberation, my wife and I chose to go to Prime Bistro for my birthday. We were going to go last Sunday, but it rained on Long Island and they didn’t have covered outdoor seating (we won’t eat inside).
Narruto Bowl
Stopped in yesterday for an early dinner at Narruto Bowl in Teaneck.
GKRF Restaurant Review Parody
I went to a dairy restaurant last night. It was in a place I wasn’t familiar with, so I blindly posted asking for suggestions instead of searching the group on my own. I’ve never had a worse experience.
Ganey Orly
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to change the plans I'd made for my wife and I to celebrate her birthday on Sunday. We didn't have a lot of time and had to be in Queens, so I decided to go with Ganey Orly for lunch.
